Guitar Lessons For Beginners
“What do I need to get started?”
Getting started is half the battle, but it need not break the bank. The size of the person has a little to do with it as smaller kids six years and up can generally kick off on a ½ or ¾ size classical guitar which start from around $79.00.
For Small people from about 7 years old, Valencia TC12 or TC13 Guitars are what we recommend, depending on the size of the student, from $79.00, But for those who can handle a full size guitar, we start with Bryden or Kayne acoustics from $169. Essex Packs start from $199.00 with Bag, strap, picks, tuner & booklet. And for the Rockers, we have electric guitar and amp packs from $299.00. All these choices are suitable for learning on.
If or When they are big enough reach full size a Steel string acoustic starts from $169.00 for a real guitar not a look alike toy. Electric guitar packs including the amplifier start at $299.00.
Any guitar that will hold tune, has the right number of strings and whose strings are close enough to the neck that you can push them down with your finger tips will get you started.
Add to this:
- A Plectrum, or a “Pick” as we call them.
- A lose leaf folder and maybe a TAB Pad, for writing lessons in.
- And that’s it, all you need to get started, and don’t forget a willingness to learn and commitment to practice!
Bass Guitar players would need a Bass and amp, if you don’t have one a Bass & Amp pack will cost around.
$399.00, add a Progressive Bass Guitar Book (with CD & DVD) around $37.00 a Bass Pick and you’re in business.
